GRRL RAVE
After noticing a lack of representation for the girls, gays and theys in the Boise art and music scene, Abbie Alling, Danielle Mitten, and I drempt up Grrl Rave, a multimedia rave and community event for under-represented groups to experience joy and community. The brand is a world of riot Grrrl revival, Y2k camp, butch and femme style, and a proudly raunchy voice. Grrl rave’s branding and events feel like getting ready with your friends or thecomradery of the girl’s bathroom.
Abbie, Danielle and I all celebrate whimsy and girlhood through our art and design, we found each other and with complementary visions created the ultimate collaboration. We have built out our team and thrown multiple events since our first. With every event, the world of Grrl Rave grows and gains a stronger sense of self. I continue to do design from afar for the events.
