JULIA DE BURGOS ELEMENTARY
Throughout the 2024-25 school year, I have worked as a resident teaching artist through Americorp’s, ArtistYear. I approached this position with an attitude of curiousity, listening to the interests of student’s and faculty. I have facilitated mural design, set design, brought in guest artists, collaborated with the community garden ran a weekly art club, and helped organize an artist market for the middle schoolers. I am currently working with over 20 students to create a 4-story long mural, wrapping up the staircase at JDB. There is nothing that I love more than contributing to my community through art, bringing people together, and seeing what kids can create.
